Listening with the Ear of Your Heart
This small group gathering is a process of inner focusing, deep listening and contemplative dialogue. Using the Bridges to Contemplative Living series of short spiritual writings by Thomas Merton and others, this is an intentional practice of deep listening and sharing.
The third booklet in this series on contemplative awareness, titled Living Your Deepest Desires will be our guide.
We will begin on Tuesday, Sept 25, at 1:00 pm and meet once a week for 8 weeks at Trinity Episcopal Church, 409 E. Court St.

Trinity Episcopal Church along with First Lutheran Church and River Hills Community Church, will be providing food and interaction for the men of the GIFTS ministry (God Is Faithful Temporary Shelter), from Sunday, November 25 through the morning of Sunday, December 9, 2018.
We will be providing our volunteer efforts at the GIFTS building at 1025 North Washington Street in Janesville. The GIFTS location is across Washington Street from the Mercy Health Mall.
The Ministry needs people to stay overnight (only one male who can sleep during the night) and provide suppers. Paula DeRubeis has volunteered to be in charge of all breakfasts. Please contact Paula if you can help her with breakfasts. Sign-up sheets are located in the back of the Church.
If the sheets are not conveniently located or you have ANY questions, PLEASE call Frank Scott at 608-449-3955 or Rich Bostwick at 608-201-8600 and we will get you scheduled and answer any questions. Thank you in advance for all the support you have shown for the GIFTS ministry.
THANK YOU in advance for your support!
Trinity Lessons and Carols
Once again the Trinity Choir is in the midst of planning for the annual presentation of Lessons and Carols to be held on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 7:00 p.m.
The Christmas Celebrations at Trinity begin with "Lessons and Carols". The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is a format of Christian worship service first held on Christmas Eve in 1918 at King's College, Cambridge, England.
The service begins with the church in darkness. As candles are lighted, the choir joins in followed by the congregation. Prayers and carols by the choir and congregation follow interspersed with readings by representatives from the congregation. The service concludes with the choir singing "Still, Still, Still," and the church returns to darkness.
The service of Nine Lessons and Carols imparts a feeling of rest, contemplation and peace, a time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. It is also an opportunity for all of us to share the unique beauty of our church with friends and neighbors.
A pot-luck dinner at 5:30pm for parish members and guests will be held in Ortmayer Hall. Please bring a dish to share. Coffee, milk and table service will be provided.
A reception in the church follows the service of Lessons and Carols.
